Note: Information on joining the new Mipham Institute Home Study program will be announced soon.

Mipham Institute’s next 3-year program is scheduled to start in September 2028.​

Students with sufficient prior study of Classical Tibetan may apply to join the ongoing 3-year program. A full year of university-level Classical Tibetan or the equivalent is required as a prerequisite. Interested students should contact us directly to make sure their Tibetan level is adequate.  

 

Students may also join the ongoing program in Buddhist philosophy only, starting September 8, 2026.  There are no prerequisites but a background in Buddhist teachings is recommended.

Please note that all students have to attend both the in-person and the online programs.  See Program Details for calendar dates and more information on the Tibetan and philosophy programs.

  • Resume / CV 

  • Short personal statement on your interest in attending Mipham Institute​

  • Name and contact information of 2 references

  • Indicate whether you're applying for full program, Classical Tibetan only, or Buddhist philosophy only
